Gap Farm Tournament Jan 2012 01/22/2012
Well a brilliant day’s racing at Gap Farm first tournament of 2012 all teams ran well today. Rockets taking 1st place in division 1 Thanks to Richard for running Spike for the first time looks like he has a new handler now (lol) well done we know he is not the easiest of dogs to handle in the flyball ring. Runners taking 2nd place in division 2, this team are running brilliant as a team now all dogs and handlers really gelling together. Starters doing really well coming 2nd with the help of Mouse from Reiver and Evia from Sheffield, Drew actually was 4 paw turning on the box and catching the ball hope he master’s it very soon best chicken breast is really working for him Puzzle working well and is almost ready for her debut in March looking forward to see her in action Eabha doing well as well only had a couple of missed balls today as a team all dogs ran exceptionally well together. And I must mention one of our young team members Oliver who was allowed into the ring today under the close supervision of his mum and auntie Val to help collect the balls and I must say he was a little star and very well behaved. Andy Team Captain 1 Comment Hi Folks, This has been a good another year for the team, it was a tough start trying to get the teams organized whilst changing them around to accommodate the new starter dogs which had come of age some worked and some didn’t so it was back to the drawing board we finally got the teams as we wanted them and then start getting them to gel as teams, then seeing some brilliant racing most weekends with the Rockets team finally breaking the sub 17 bracket in July whilst racing Mansfield Marnicks . The BFA Championships came up fast this year the team supplying a ring and keeping it in order for the 3 day competition so that is a big thank you to all concerned and also entering 4 racing teams Rockets ,where running in division 2 on the Sunday this was a mixed days racing not running to its full potential I would say it was down to nerves but next year should be completely different Runners where running in division 12 on the Saturday had some brilliant racing and was just piped to the top prize by Fylde Coasters who were running .5 of a second quicker Ricochets where running in division 24 on the Saturday and really should have won this division but it wasn’t to be. Runarounds where running in division 23 on the Saturday, has run brilliant all year and taking the top prize and winning there division. Overall a good three days at the championships meeting up with people we don’t see as often as we would like As a team we have hosted 4 tournaments this year 2 indoor and 2 outdoor all very excellent shows and it is with all the hard work put in by us as a team that make them successful thank you to all the team the hard work is really appreciated by us, and I would also like to add a thank you to the Hillam team for helping out in the stat’s tent as and when we were racing. As a team we have said good bye to several team members who have left RFT for one reason or another as all ways we wish them the best of luck with their new teams and look forward to meeting and racing you in the ring and also would like to welcome the new team members to RFT and hope your stay is an enjoyable one. Team Captain Andy Saying goodbye 10/30/2011
Well it is time to say good bye to some of our team members Darryl, Vicki, Beth, and Marie who have been with Rotherham for quite a while now, they will be missed as team members. All at Rotherham would like to wish them good luck with their new team the Storm Chashers and we are really looking forward to some good racing when we meet in the ring. Andy Team Captain All set for Flyballing 2011 01/04/2011
After a year of mixed results, we really feel we can make waves this year, we have some very promising young dogs ready to go into starters, and the current Open dogs have really started to gel within their own teams. We have had a few newcomers; Anita and Glynn with their Spaniels and Lab and also Lynn and Neil with their speedy collies! The year could have been much better but with one thing and another we feel we really haven't done as well as previous years. The Championships were a bit of a disappointment, being placed third in all of the Divisions we entered. So this year we intend to gain better seed times, closer change overs and have a MUCH better result at the 2011 British Championships! We will be starting the year at Gap Farm and then our first home show in March. It's going to be a great Year for RFT!! Special mentions must go to; Kimba on reaching his "Pearl Award" Max got his "Ice Blue Moon Award" Ollie got his "Ice Blue Moon Award" Nell managed to get her "Ice Blue Moon Award" McCauley on reaching his "Gold Award" Spike on achieving his "Silver Award" Charlie reached his "Silver Award" Roi managed to get his "Silver Award" Barney got his "Fyball Dog Advanced Award" Honey reached her "Flyball Dog Graduate Award" Cleo got her "Flyball Dog Graduate Award" Angus received his "Flyball Dog Graduate Award" Kane received his "Flyball Dog Intermediate Award" Ronnie gained his "Flyball Dog Award" Jasmine achieved her "Flyball Dog Award" Gap Farm, 24th Jan 2010 What a busy day! We had 4 teams entered in 3 divisions with Ring Party to do as well! We were also joined by a new team member, Bethany. All teams ran extremely well; their first outing with the new boxes. Kane ran his first full tournament in Open and will now have achieved his Flyball Dog Award. Sam Whitaker and Jasper received their GOLD Award, Samantha James with Charlie and Spike ALL got their Flyball Dog Advanced Award, Libby and Ellie received their Flyball Dog Graduate, Roi and Katherine were given their Flyball Dog Advanced Award, Vicki and Honey received the Flyball Dog Intermediate Award and Maddie and Katherine were presented with their Flyball Dog Award. Huge well done to the whole team on a very successful days racing! After a very succesful days racing at St Leger Horse Park, two of our team members were presented with awards. Kimba and Katherine were presented with their Platinum award, for gaining 25,000 points! Kimba is the ONLY Doberman in the UK to have reached such a milestone award! Tanya and Tosca also received their latest award, Flyball Dog Intermediate, for gaining 1,000 points! Well done guys!! New website launched 12/03/2009
